OC SALON "CUTS FOR A CURE" AND RAISES MORE THAN $ 3,500 IN A FEW SHORT HOURS
ORANGE COUNTY- More than 200 hundred clients were a part of the ‘Cut for a Cure' event at Armando – A Joshua Christopher Salon in Newport Beach. The event raised more than $3,500 during the five-hour ‘cut-and-style-a-thon.'
"This is my first time getting my hair cut at this type of event and I think they do a great job," says Valerie Everheart. "I'm glad I can support such a worthwhile cause and still get a quality cut."
The salon has partnered with St. Joseph Hospital for the past four years for the annual 'Cut for a Cure' fundraiser. The salon hosted another event in Fullerton at the Joshua Christopher Salon, which raised more than $3,000.
"Everybody is touched by cancer and everyone wants to feel beautiful," said Christopher Nunez, owner of the Joshua Christopher Salon in Fullerton and Armando Salon. "I'm so appreciative of my staff because they are volunteering their time to raise money for a worthwhile cause such as the Center for Cancer Prevention and Treatment at St. Joseph Hospital."
The salon partnered with local businesses to provide gift bags to all participants. Some of the businesses that donated to the event include Orange County's Lucy Active Wear, Susie Cakes Cupcakes and The OC Team Training Center. Gift baskets for the raffle, which raised an additional $300, included products from Shu Uemura, TIGI Hair Studios and Number 4 High Performance Hair Care.
"I wanted to help make the ‘Cut For a Cure' bigger and better this year, so I asked local businesses to help contribute to the gift bags," said Steve De La Torre, certified fitness professional from Personal Training Revolution— who also contributed gift certificates to his fitness boot camps. "This is my first year being involved in this exciting event and I feel like even a small donation can make a big impact."
The salon provided affordable services, almost 50-80% in discounted prices, on haircuts, deep conditioning, eye brow shaping and hand treatments, and more.
The salons did the hair and makeup partner for the hospital's Circles of Life Fashion Show and Luncheon that the hospital held earlier this summer. Cancer patients and survivors that were models in the show received complimentary make-overs by the salon. The event raised more than $100,000 for the Center for Cancer Prevention and Treatment at St. Joseph Hospital.
"The hospital has built such a strong relationship with the salon and we are so grateful to the Armando and Joshua Christopher Salons for opening their doors for such an important cause," said Carmen Morales, cancer survivor advocate and co-chair of the Circles of Life Fashion Show at St. Joseph Hospital.

Can a guy use an eyelash curler?
My doctor told me that I needed it because they were very straight, but I'm hesitant to get one. The reason my doctor recommended it is because I have very long eyelashes so I always see them because they go over my eyes. They never have been a problem but my doctor insists. Should I get one? I heard shu uemura is supposed to be the best and Im willing to spend on it since if Im getting one, I dont want to risk going on a second embarrassing trip to sephora if they dont work that well. My sister has the shu uemura but I dont want to share it because its just not hygienic. So which should I do, straight and long, or curly and long?
Or should I get an eyelash perm?
NO SCISSORS WILL GO NEAR MY EYELASHES. ALL I CAN THINK OF ARE HOW UNEVEN THEY WILL BE.

got the same problem dude nothing is worse then trying to find a pair of sunglasses that do not hit the lashes I have used the curler on really bad days. also it is good to pull out some of the fly away ones cause they are the ones that always seem to turn down and annoy my eye all da. And yes I am a dude to with like 1 and a half eye lashes they suck, but the girls love them.
